District Manager needed for a retail location in Lansing, MI 49817

Job Description: Responsible for the management of all operations of multiple state regions

Key Objectives:

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • All behavior, actions and decisions shall be completely aligned with the company's Corporate Moral Values
  • Managing budget components including but not limited to:
  • Labor
  • Supervision
  • Cleaning Supplies & Equipment
  • Equipment Repair
  • Independent Contractors
  • Field Supervision
  • Workers Comp/GL
  • Making sure 95% of quality scores are at a Green or Yellow status
  • Hiring, Training, Managing all direct reports
  • Monitoring procedures, documentation and activity as they pertain to hiring, training, recognition, reprimanding and termination
  • Monitoring procedures, documentation and activity as they pertain to ordering supplies, independent contractor services and equipment repair
  • Managing and tracking all labor expense
  • Starting-up new accounts
  • Managing and tracking cleaning equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair for each job site. On a quarterly basis (Jan.1, Apr.1, Jul.1, Oct.1) Manager shall submit an Equipment Inventory and Repair Report. This report should reflect all supplies and equipment
  • Assisting direct reports as necessary to ensure adequate staffing, supervision, supplies and service fulfillment
  • Through direct reports, hire, train and coordinate project personnel
  • Development and management of a plan to generate additional revenue from project work
  • Training direct reports and developing training programs for the purpose of promoting continual skills development of all region operations personnel, training programs should include curriculums minimally for:
    • New Hires
    • Supervisors in Training
    • Supervisors
    • Project Personnel
    • Continual improvement (team cleaning, new products, new services, new tools, etc.)
    • Conducting daily meetings/conference calls with direct reports to review customer and labor issues
    • Performing weekly one-on-one performance reviews with direct reports to review:
      • Customer Satisfaction
      • Account Budget Status
      • Labor Issues
      • Administrative issues
      • Activity Reports
      • Inspection results
      • Etc.
      • Holding weekly training meetings with all operations field staff  to review:
        • Customer Satisfaction
        • Department Budget Status
        • Labor Issues
        • Administrative Issues
        • A Staff Development Portion (each meeting should be developmental in some way)
        • Reviewing budget vs. actual labor usage each pay period with direct reports
        • Reviewing with direct reports all project work tickets and labor used each pay period
        • No less than weekly meetings with every high-risk customer
        • No less than bi-weekly meetings with all other customers
        • Attending quarterly management meetings and preparing a report on the following:
          • Status of customer satisfaction by location
          • Budget Status
          • Administrative Issues
          • Visiting prospective customers as requested to participate in the bid or selling process
          • Extensive travel to various sites/locations 90% of the time

5 years of Janitorial Management experience required. 3 years of management experience required.  

Salary $45,000-$48,000 per year plus auto/travel expenses and bonus opportunity.

Bilingual preferred but not required.
